New Territory
is comprised of 42 neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has several
volunteer positions including Crime Watch Coordinator, Social
Coordinator, Neighborhood Representative and an Alternate Neighborhood
Representative. The Crime Watch and Social positions are appointed
while the Neighborhood Representative is elected for a 2 year term.
Neighborhood Representative
The individual
you have elected as your Neighborhood Representative (NR) represents
your neighborhood with both the Association and the Board of
Directors. This is not meant to preclude an individual resident from
contacting either the board or the association but in matters of
concern for the whole neighborhood, often times more can be
accomplished through your NR since they can represent your neighborhood
as a whole.
Your
NR attends the monthly board meetings as well as a monthly Rep
meetings where issues of importance are discussed that affect
individual neighborhoods specifically as well as New Territory in
general. They will keep you apprised of what goes on in those meetings
and bring your issues to the attention of both groups. The NR group
has a powerful say in the affairs of our community. Make sure that you
know who your Rep is that you provide him/her with your neighborhood
issues/comments.
The
NR luncheons are normally scheduled at noon every 1st Friday of each
month. If you have input for your NR be sure to have it to him/her
before that date so they can put it on the Agenda.
Each NR is required to serve on the Property Improvements Committee for one quarter each year. CLICK HERE for details on this Committee's roles and responsibilities.
Neighborhood Crime Watch Coordinator
The
Neighborhood Crime Watch Coordinator is a volunteer position. If you
are interested please contact the Association office at 281-565-0616 or
at
Neighborhood Social Coordinator
The
neighborhood Social Coordinator is appointed by the Neighborhood
Representative to provide the leadership and organization of activities
for the Neighborhood as well as coordination of the Neighborhood's
activities with the general New Territory activities. Active
neighborhoods create a more desirable place to live and enhances the
quality of life for all.
But this is Your Neighborhood
These
are the roles of your neighborhood representatives. But if our
neighborhood is to remain one of the finest places to live and raise a
family, we must all be involved. Leaders can lay out the best of plans
but those plans can only be successful as the effort that is put into
them by all of us. Let your voices be heard. Get to know your
representatives and take the little bit of time it takes to be
involved.
